Altar servers have the great honor of assisting in the most sacred event that takes place on earth: the celebration of the most holy Mass. It is right and just, therefore, that altar servers prepare themselves in mind, heart, and body in order to worthily serve our Lord. You can do this by arriving at your scheduled Mass early enough to spend a few minutes in prayer. This will put you in the correct spiritual state of mind to prepare the altar and assist the celebrating priest during the service.
We especially encourage boys and young men to serve at Mass in order to open their hearts and souls to a possible vocation to the priesthood. However, any child grade 3 or older who has received First Holy Communion is invited to become an altar server. If you are interested or want more information, please see Fr. Chris.
