Dear Parents, Grandparents, and Guardians,
These last several months have brought many new challenges to our lives and have changed how we live our daily lives. As we continue to adapt to our new way of life, here at St. Catherine of Siena, we have been working on adapting to who we worship, prayer, learn, socialize, and serve others. In the area of our faith formation, we have been pleased to have been able to continue to offer various online programs for our children this past Spring, along with adult formation programs. As we slowly open to in person gatherings, we will continue to also use some online options as well. This year, you will find that we will be offering both opportunities for being formed in our Faith Formation Program, virtually and in person. If you wish to particpate virtually, please contact Lisa to discuss the options. Dates in times will be available shortly, and registration will start in October.
This past year, we have been pleased to finish a three-year transition plan for the Sacraments of Initiation that has been implemented throughout the Diocese of Manchester. To learn more about the initiated and the plan, check out the webpage on Restore, Renew, Proclaim.
This year, we will be offering faith formation classes for Kindergarten to grade 12. We encourage all students to register even if they have received their Sacraments of Initiation. (Confirmation and Eucharist) As Catholics, we are on a journey, and we are called to continue to grow in our faith each day of our lives. I hope that you and your families will continue to journey with us.
To the right side of the page is the schedule with the list of dates and the flow for each grade level. For all families who will be going through one of the Sacramental Program, each will contain a parents meeting, retreat, rehearsal and celebration. Please take note of the programs. If your child attends a Catholic school, they do not have to attend the weekly classes, except for the preparations required for each Sacrament. See their grade for specifics. Preparations and the reception of First Reconciliation will take place in second grade. Confirmation preparation will begin in spring of second grade and be received in third grade, along with the preparation of the Sacrament of the Eucharist in Third grade. For students who are older who have not made the Sacraments there will be preparation classes available. Please see Fr. Chris or Lisa Daugherty for information.
In addition to our Sacraments Programs, we have a lot of other programs being offered for grade school students, along with adult programs:
We look forward to journeying with you and your family this upcoming year, even with all the challenges. As always, we are here for you, so if you have any questions, please do not hesitate to let us know. And lastly please know that we are praying for you and your family!
God Bless,
Lisa Daugherty, Karen Brockway, Derick Alexandre, Fr. Chris Martel
